Products to Help Aging Senior

Our family was told that our father had Parkinson’s disease. When we first got the word, none of us really knew anything about this disease. We all learned a lot and very quickly. He went from a very active senior citizen to a person that had a hard time just taking a drink and even walking. Many of the products found at www.seniorcitizenshop.com were found very valuable to our father. But that website was not online at that time, that is why we have now built a website for anyone that might find themselves in the situation we were in. My father past away almost three years ago now. We all remember how we felt wanting so desperately to help and really not knowing even where to start. We were able to keep him at home for years with help from many different products available today and hospice care. But the day did finally come that the family thought it would be better if he was in a nursing home. I’m almost ashamed to admit it but I was the last family member to say OK and with my family, everyone has to agree before anything is done. It was not until I found my mother afraid to even fall asleep that I finally said it was time. One night after she was asleep, my father went into the garage and locked the door. She could not get in and was extremely afraid. He was not going anywhere but none of us knew that, he was just in the garage and he was happy. That night he did not even realize my mother.
Maybe you are not in the situation we were in. I honestly hope you are not but if you are, my heart goes out to you. Since my father’s death, my mother fell and broke her hip. In fact, it was about 3 months after my father’s death. Today, she still wants to stay in her own home and will not even listen to any of us about moving in with one of her kids. She is now 86 years old and very independent. She insists on trying to do everything herself and I guess I understand that. With the use of a walker, cane, grabbers, toilet seat raiser, big button remotes and phones, heat pads, shower seat and other items, she can remain in her own home.

There is a section for eye glasses, cleaners, holder, and eye glass repair as well as hearing aids, batteries, and even parts for hearing aids. Until we were developing this website, we did not realize all the different types of heat pads on the market today. Of coarse there are electric heat pads, but there are also herbal and microwave ones available. And it was surprising to me to find mattress heat pads.
