New Website Introduces Secrets to Booking Successful Music Gigs

February 3rd, 2010

3 February 2010 – When you’re starting out in show business, you’ll need to live off every gig that will be thrown in your direction. The problem is that a new talent will probably find it difficult to land steady gigs with various music venues. Platinum Millennium, Inc., a renowned company specializing in multimedia solutions has recently launched a website that will provide resources for those who want to know how to book paying gigs and attract fans and supporters.

“I’ve seen a lot of great talents, striving to live off gig after gig without really making it big in the industry,” says Ty Cohen, president of Platinum Millennium and a respected expert in the music industry. “These talents go to waste because they don’t get the following that they deserve. This is why we have launched Gigging for Dollars.”

The website is going to direct users to a new material that will teach them about landing gigs that will also attract fans and supporters. It will also outline the secrets to booking any gig on any entertainment venue that will bring musicians sufficient exposure.

“The best thing about this is that the tips are going to be given for free,” Cohen said. He adds that this is his way of giving back to the industry. “We can’t let that talent go to waste just because they don’t know about the opportunities that are just waiting for them to tap into.”

Cohen states that when you’re a novice, it’s difficult to get entertainment venues to trust in your talent. The new resource will help upcoming musicians land the gigs that they want and negotiate a fair rate while they are at it.

The website promises to help musicians book up to six months worth of gigs through the material’s helpful tips with no strings attached. Interested parties may visit the GiggingforDollars.com website to learn more.

New Book Uncovers the Secrets to Using MySpace for Promoting Music

January 30th, 2010

January 15, 2010 – Social networking sites are the hottest things in the internet these days. It is where one can find a lot of people. A new book entitled, MySpace Magic Manuscript, works off from this idea, providing musicians, producers and songwriters to promote their works and get them heard by millions in just a few minutes. Published by Platinum Millennium, a leading name in multi-media solutions, the book is available in downloadable format through MySpaceMagicManuscript.com.

“Few musicians and producers realize that they actually have a gold mine right under their noses in MySpace and other social networking sites,” says Ty Cohen, president of Platinum Millennium. “There are a lot of people who are on MySpace making it a great venue for marketing songs and even finding new and fresh talents to change the music industry landscape.”

MySpace Magic Manuscript features comprehensive and easy to follow steps on how musicians can tap into the social networking website for their marketing and promotional campaigns. It takes the user through various methods on how he can promote his music and his CDs by simply maintaining a page on MySpace and other similar websites.

“Originally, the mere idea of spending millions of dollars to find an audience for new music is more than enough to discourage new talents,” Cohen adds. He said that with the increased prevalence of the internet, even upcoming artists can easily attract a listener base for their songs without spending a lot on promotions. “There are lots of free marketing tools available out there,” he said. “The only challenge is to use them properly and MySpace Magic Manuscript offers tips on how to do just that.”

Indie Artists Can Make Millions Selling Music Online – Industry Expert

January 4th, 2010

December 12, 2009 – The internet is the perfect marketing tool for independent singers, rappers, songwriters, and music producers, according to a report by SellMusicOnlineLikeCrazy.com – a website that provides members with the tools needed to successfully market any music genre online.

“The most recent ZDNET Research study states that 16% of all music sold in Europe and the United States will be sold online. In fact, in 2008, the online music industry generated over $1 billion,” explains Ty Cohen, president of Platinum Millennium Publishing, which runs  SellMusicOnlineLikeCrazy.com.

“The numbers don’t lie,” Cohen continues. “There is a big online music market out there, and independent artists who have no record deals and no access to other traditional ways of distributing their music can very easily take advantage of the internet to sell their music and make serious money.”

Cohen was among the first music industry veterans to realize the potential of online music marketing and make money from the trend. Through his new course offering entitled “Sell Music Online Like Crazy,” he offers a complete guide to promoting and selling music via the internet.

“We teach you actual techniques,” he explains. “The course shows you how to get top websites to promote your music. We show you exactly how you can make money and get you royalty checks every month just by selling our music online.”

According to Cohen, the course is a step-by-step plan that anyone can follow. “We even demonstrate how you can build a loyal online fan base that will be receptive to everything you sell to them – from  your MP3s to your t-shirts, posters, etc. More importantly, we show you how you can easily and painlessly build a professional website where you can sell your music and related merchandise from – all on autopilot.”

Those who have tried Cohen’s method have been satisfied.

“I used to send demo CD after demo CD to big-shot music labels, but got unsatisfactory response,” says Greg Odell, a professional online promoter of independent artists. “After completing the course, I realized who inefficient my old method was. Now, I use the internet to promote and distribute the music of my artists, and business has more than quadrupled.”

The ““Sell Music Online Like Crazy” course is downloadable from the SellMusicOnlineLikeCrazy.com website. On top of the manual, buyers also get audio CDs and online marketing blueprints. Discounts are available to early buyers.

New Wedding Song Is “Rockin’ Receptions” All Over the World

December 4th, 2009

International singer/songwriter E. Walter Smith releases new ‘club banger’ that tops every bride’s ‘Must Play’ list.  Wedding DJs announce “The Electric Slide just died… Everybody’s doin’ The Bride Slide!”

Wedding DJs around the world have started “rockin’ receptions” with the HOT new ‘club banger,’ We Married – The Bride Slide, written by international singer/songwriter E. Walter Smith featuring LaVoria Reese; http://www.WeMarried.org

Usually known for his romantic, hypnotic honey baritone vocals, E. Walter Smith cleverly portrays the raw emotions of every bride and groom as they complete the final chapter of an old school courtship and celebrate the beginning of a life filled with unbridled passion and the start of a new family.

Bringing a new groove to a bride’s “Must Play” list, We Married – The Bride Slide opens with the heart thumping chant of:

“Got a new ring on my finger
Sang “I DO” with the wedding singer
Nothing can stop us now
We’re livin’ our wedding vow”

Atlanta Gospel Choice Awards Nominee for the “Best New Female Artist,” Lavoria Reese brings a “realness” to the song to which women all around the world can relate.  Where Madison Avenue typically portrays a modern bride as a youthful size 4, Reese “brags” We Married as a gorgeous, chocolate, full figured, faith filled and full grown woman.

When asked how she feels about becoming the “poster girl” for brides around the world, Reese says, “Wow! Is this me?  LAVORIA? The church girl is now the wedding funky party singer?!   What diversity I have!”.

Wizard Jones has served as music director for the likes of the Soul Train Music Awards, Toni Braxton, TLC, Silk, SOS Band, New Edition, and Bell, Biv, DeVoe and provided the funky “ol’ school flava” that grabs you in the center of your dance soul as the celebrated producer of We Married – The Bride Slide.  He then laced the re-mix version  (Wizard’s Re-Mix) with the powerful presence of orchestra blasts and a masterful cross pollination of contemporary Latin, House and Club arrangements that blend the  essence of a wedding’s romantic innocence  with the honeymoon’s anticipated passion and bliss.

Guy Mitchell, Jr. who co-produced the platinum hit My Baby’s Daddy and John Beal, III who also co-wrote “I DO” with Smith, collaborated with Smith on this song.

After several spot dates with George Duke, world class drummer Sonny Emory, and Kool and the Gang’s JT Taylor, Darian Emory blew up We Married – The Bride Slide with a sax solo that yanks you right from the bridge of the song to the middle of the dance floor. The funkiest guitar groove in music was stroked by former Rick James guitar player, Maurice Richardson.

Since this song is having such an impact on how weddings across the world are being celebrated it’s only fitting to announce the often unsung heroes of every song: The sound engineers. Without them it’s like seeing the bridal party dressed in jeans and t-shirts.   The amazing production of We Married – The Bride Slide was recorded at Wizard’s Majik Lab Studio in Atlanta, Georgia, Orange Room Studios in East Point, Georgia, and  Reggie Moore’s Mosart Muzik Studios in Snellville, Georgia. The vocal mixing mastering, like the icing on a wedding cake, was engineered and mastered by John Henry Johnson, Jr. CEO/President of Mad At It Records, LLC in Los Angeles. (Darryl Swann (Macy Gray) Akon (Colby O’Donis), YoYo.

Smith’s musical and marketing genius is again put on display by writing and producing a song that features a new line dance specifically for a wedding…The Bride Slide.  Choreographed by Jennifer Melchor (Mary J Blige, SWV, LL Cool J, Salt & Pepa) The Bride Slide is a simple line dance that can be done by everybody at the reception.

“I’d gone to my parent’s house for Christmas only to be awaked one morning by the sound of classic line dance music. When I went down stairs they were in the middle of the dining room practicing a new line dance for the annual Couples Club Holiday party. So, as a special surprise I wrote We Married – The Bride Slide as a dedication to them as they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.”

Over the years a lot of brides and DJs have asked me to write a hot dance song that they can play to replace “dreaded four.”  (The Electric Slide, Cha Cha Slide, Macarena and Cupid Shuffle).  Well, let’s just say I hope they make room for We Married – The Bride Slide,” says Smith.

Independent Recording Artist MRDC Pays Subscribers Who Enjoy and Tell Others About Website

July 26th, 2009

Lions Bay, B.C ( PressReleaseHome ) July 24, 2009 -With music more commonly downloaded off the internet than purchased at retail stores these days, users have been waiting for an innovative approach to buy and benefit from their music. Martin Richmond, the artist behind MRDC is perhaps one of the most innovative musicians in the industry. Not only has he recently launched a new album titled “Infomusication”, his new website mrdc-music.com is breaking new ground in the way music is purchased and promoted.

For just $25 per year subscribers to mrdc-music.com can purchase a subscription to the site and download all of MRDC’s music, which currently consists of three albums and bonus material. What’s more is that the website allows users to share the music with their friends and get paid for referrals.

“I wanted to create a website that would reward my fans for telling their friends about me. So many artists lose their personal connection with their fans when they put their music on some of the popular download sites. They also charge per song or per album and don’t reward fans for telling others about their music. I wanted my website to reward my fans who become members and then tell their friends about me by paying them back for the referral. They get a sharing license and a $10 refund if they want to tell friends about me. They then get up to an additional $5 for every person they tell about me that signs up for a subscription to my site. I figured that so many people share their favorite new music finds with their friends on social networking sites and blogs that they may as well get some money for it,” stated owner and artist Martin Richmond.

When you sign up to be a member of mrdc-music.com you can also sign up to be a member of the “Street Team” which then allows you to download links, banners and other promotional material. For example, users who have signed up for the Street Team can post their link in a post on their Facebook or Twitter pages and MRDC will pay them for every referral that signs up for a subscription.

Martin Richmond, the artist behind the music and the idea for the website went on to say, “Artists have lost their personal connection with their fans and I feel that this site allows me to connect with them as well as reward them for telling their friends about my music. I figured it was only fair that they be rewarded for taking the time to tell someone they like what they hear at my site mrdc-music.com.”

“The great thing about the internet is that everyone from every part of the world can access it,” Cohen said. “So you can just imagine how many people will be able to listen to your music if you get it promoted through social networking.”

He adds that the radio show’s episode on social networking is not just for independent musicians. “It’s also for the many professionals who work in the music industry.”

The radio show also tackles how record labels and venue operators can stand to benefit from the use of social networking in music promotions. “It’s an episode that is really worth listening to because everyone can learn a lot from it,” says Cohen.
