PHR Releases Pet Hair Cleaning Report

July 5th, 2010

6-21-10 – PHR, known for their free household cleaning information, has just released their latest report on the top ways to clean up unwanted pet hair that discusses many pet hair remover products.

“Finding the right pet hair remover product can seem like an overwhelming task due to all the different cleaning units that are available today,” says Mary Thomson, owner of PHR. “No matter how many times you bathe and brush your animal, there always seems to be a buildup of hair around the house. While it can be quite difficult to clean, pet hair removal does not have to be too difficult or cost you an arm and a leg.”

Covered in this report are necessary requirements that you will need to consider when purchasing your next vacuum cleaner if your main objective is to remove pet hair.

“If your main cleaning will be on carpet, the best cleaner will be an upright vacuum cleaner. These units will come in many shapes and sizes so there are a few things to consider before making any purchases,” says Mary.

You will learn in this report important information for buying a vacuum system. Here is a brief overview of the report.

What is the CFM – The CFM of a vacuum cleaner is very important. This stands for cubic feet of air per minute. Most of the cheaper cleaners are standard 40 CFM which is O.K. for most cleaning jobs.

However, if your goal is to find a reliable pet hair remover, you will need to purchase a unit that is 100 CFM or greater.

Attachments – It is critical to have the correct attachment for pet hair removal. Another thing that the upright should come with is front mounted hair lifter. This tool is great for grabbing pet hair and acts similar to a lint brush. Even if the vacuum costs a little bit more, make sure to get one with this attachment.

If you will be cleaning bare floors such as hardwood floors, laminate floors or linoleum, a canister or handheld vacuum will usually do a better job. You can use an upright unit on bare floors just make sure that you use the proper attachment. Without it, you can cause scuff marks and scratches.

“There are also several new vacuum cleaners on the market made especially for pet hair removal,” says Mary. “Some of the brands include Dyson, Hoover and Dirt Devil. While these units usually cost a little more money, it your main goal is to remove pet hair, it is definitely worth the extra cost.”
